- RELEASED: Early UK repress probably released around '71 - '72.
Originally released in 1971.
- NOTE 1: Based on the PFA this is of the first UK issue.
- NOTE 2: I prefer this one over the other two UK editions of Meddle below, this one has the best dynamics of all the vinyl editions of Meddle I've yet played.
The UK edition right below sounds softer and stuffier than this one. Also the HTM cut reissue below sounds brighter and cleaner and has slightly less
dynamics but is not too far from this one.

- NOTE 1: Based on the PFA this is of the third UK issue.
- NOTE 2: Of the three UK editions of Meddle I've played this one sounds the most stuffiest and the softest, I prefer more of the two UK releases above and below.
Some people say the difference to the release right below is due to this being cut with tube equipment and the one below being cut with solid state equipment.

PATENT No 1,125,555.
- RELEASED: Reissued UK repress probably released around the late 70s/early 80s.
Based on the runouts this is a later pressing than the one right above (A-6/B-5 cut vs. A-7/B-6 HTM cut).
Originally released in 1971.
- NOTE1 : Based on the PFA this is of the third UK issue but the PFA does not differentiate issues based on who cut them. That means this release is coupled with the
release right above as third UK issue even though these are of different cut and released at different times.
- NOTE 2: This one sounds brighter and cleaner and has slightly less dynamics than the first UK cut above.
Due to the brighter and cleaner sound of this record I prefer the first UK edition over this one.

Gramophone Co. Ltd. was replaced with EMI Records Ltd. on the center labels.
Originally released 24th of March 1973 (source PFA).
- OTHER: Includes a pyramid poster (probably originally included the other usual add-ons as well).
- NOTE 1: The sound quality is simply excellent and very dynamic, significantly better than in all the other editions I've played, including the Japanese first edition with
solid blue prism below! The pressing quality might be little better though as my copy is warped.
- NOTE 2: Based on the PFA this is of the second UK issue released in April 1973.
The first edition came with solid blue triangle on the center labels and they are priced ridiculously high because they are very easily recognized.

The other The Gramophone Co. Ltd. has been replaced with EMI Records Ltd. on the center labels, based on that this is post 1973 release.
Originally released 24th of March 1973 (source PFA).
- NOTE 1: The cutting quality is VERY good and not too far from the UK A-3/B-2 cut above but the vinyl is noisy and because of that the A-3/B-2 cut without a doubt
remains the best cut I've played. If you can find a quiet pressing then this would be cheaper and more readily available alternative for the UK A-3/B-2 cut.
- NOTE 2: The PFA does not recognize this exact pressing with black paper innersleeve though it does recognize similar pressing with white innersleeve (5th UK issue).

- OTHER: Has a dark purple sticker with album title and artist name on the front cover. Includes two big posters and two small sticker sheets.
- NOTE 1: The sound quality is clearly not as good and dynamic as in the A-3/B-2 cut above but still quite enjoyable.
This one sounds a lot brighter and thinner than the UK A-3/B-2 cut above and the Swedish pressed UK A-5/B-5 cut below.

- INNERSLEEVE: thin white paper innersleeve with instructions of taking care of records on light blue text, all corners clipped and not die-cut (the original innersleeve),
PATENT NO• 1,125,555, Made in Great Britain
- RELEASED: UK reissue probably from the late 70s. Based on the stamper markings this was pressed before the release right below.
- NOTE 1: The sound quality is clearly not as good and dynamic as in the A-3/B-2 cut above but still quite enjoyable.
This one sounds a lot brighter and thinner than the UK A-3/B-2 cut above or the Swedish pressed UK A-5/B-5 cut below. Also, my copy had a skip on Money.
- NOTE 2: Harry T. Moss also cut many of the Beatles album reissues and the Beatles fans think he started adding his initials to the lacquers he cut in 1973.
- NOTE 3: Based on the PFA this is of the 5th UK issue.
- NOTE 4: The three dots on the runouts might form a letter A but there are no visible lines between the dots no matter how close you look at the runouts.
Also, it's not clear whether the dots are etched or stamped, they look the same so they might as well be stamped.
(The stamped A that usually shows only three dots and very faint lines between them was used by CBS Pressing Plant, Aston Clinton to denote their pressings.)

- NOTE 1: Side A sounds clearly better than side B but they both sound very good. The German B-2 cut sounds even better and much warmer though.
- NOTE 2: My copy was VERY noisy and full of pops even though the record looked NM.

- INNERSLEEVE: white polylined paper innersleeve, die-cut to show the center labels (not the original innersleeve).
- RELEASED: First German edition made and released in 1973 based on the runouts and cat#, reissues have cat# beginning with 1C 064.
- OTHER: Includes two big posters and a small image (not a sticker like in the corresponding UK edition) all with cat# 1C 062-05 249 printed on them on the lower
right corner. Supposedly there should be two of those small images but the other one is missing from my copy.
- NOTE: This record sounds edgy, brighter and even distorted compared to the A3-B2 UK cut above. I'll much rather play the UK cut or the German edition right below.
The German A4/B-2 cut sounds a lot softer than this one, especially the B-2 cut sounds VERY warm.
The aforementioned UK cut sounds very smooth and very dynamic compared to this one.
However, I really like the brighter and cleaner sound of this record very much.

- OTHER: Includes two big posters and two small pictures, the posters and the pictures have the same cat# as the gatefold cover.
- NOTE: The B-side sounds remarkably better than the A-side and, according to some, the German A-2/B-2 cut is the best one ever made of this album along with
two UK cuts but most of the time the UK vinyl is much more noisier than the dead-quiet German vinyl of the time.

- COVER: gatefold cover printed by SIB TRYCK TUMBA in Sweden,
℗ 1973,
the sticker that came on the front cover of at least some UK and US editions is actually printed on the front cover of this edition,
the cover contains a remanant note "7303 TPS Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd." meaning the cover was printed based on the UK edition,
50-1 printed on the upper left corner of the back cover (never yet seen this code on any UK edition)
- INNERSLEEVE: plain white paper innersleeve, not die-cut (probably not the original innersleeve)
- RELEASED: Most likely the first Swedish edition or a repress of it made and released in the 70s.
- OTHER: Pressed in Sweden from the fifth UK cut. Includes a big band poster (probably originally included the other usual add-ons as well).
- NOTE: The sound quality is VERY good and warm, along with the first Japanese edition and the UK A-3/B-2 cut this is without a doubt one of the best quality cuts of
this album I've played so far. Unfortunately I've seen only two copies both with many small pressing errors (warped records, small bumps on the playing surface,
off-centered pressings, bowl shaped records) which makes the UK pressings above more favourable as they have less pressing errors.

the copy I had had big bumps on the playing surface and was unplayable in three last tracks on B-side. It looked like the thin clear plastic layer on the
playing surface had started to peel off from the records surface.

- INNERSLEEVE: plain white paper innersleeve, not die-cut to show the center labels and no corners clipped (the original innersleeve)
- RELEASED: Canadian reissue pressed sometime between 1977-1984.
Supposedly the third and last Canadian edition according to PFA but the PFA does not take into account that the Don Mills plant kept pressing vinyl after the
Capitol pressing plant in Missisauga was closed with very little runout changes up until August 1988.
- NOTE 1: I believe this edition may have been pressed before the Don Mills pressing right above since Capitol Records-EMI of Canada had an operating vinyl pressing
plant only between 1977-1984. The Don Mills plant likely continued pressing Canadian editions in around 1984 until ending all vinyl pressing in August 1988.
However, there exists 70s Don Mills pressings as well with slightly different runouts and both plants may have pressed this album simultaneously.
- NOTE 2: This was pressed from two different US cuts and because of that I believe this was one of the first editions made in the Missisauga pressing plant.
There exists (supposedly later) Canadian pressings from the same plant with both sides cut in Canada.
Annoyingly very few Canadian pressings of this album from the Missisauga plant seem to have both sides pressed from the same cut.
- NOTE 3: The KP cut side sounds more brighter and cleaner than the Wally cut side. The UK A-3/B-2 cut above sounds a lot better and much more dynamic.

- RELEASED: Supposedly the last Canadian edition according to PFA. The Capitol Records-EMI of Canada had an operating vinyl pressing plant only between 1977-1984
so this can not have been pressed after 1984. My guess is the Don Mills plant continued to press this album in Canada between 1984-1988.
- NOTE 1: Annoyingly this release was pressed from two different cuts. The B side is clearly pressed from a US Capitol cut while TG is a clear reference to RCA Studios,
Toronto (T= Toronto, G = good source material). The RCA Studios, Toronto was sold and renamed to McClear Place in 1979 which continued to use similar
markings on the runouts as RCA did at least until 1982 so it's not clear when this was cut.
- NOTE 2: The US Capitol cut side sounds slightly more open though both sides are VERY good quality cuts.
The UK A-3/B-2 cut above sounds better and much more dynamic to my ears.
- NOTE 3: I believe this edition may have been pressed before the Don Mills pressing above since Capitol Records-EMI of Canada had an operating vinyl pressing

- NOTE 2: This is one of the best sounding records ever made of this album, only the UK A-3/B-3 cut is said to sound SLIGHTLY better but only if you can find a
dead quiet copy of it. Japanese vinyl has always EXCELLENT pressing quality, if not THE BEST in the world, and their vinyl material quality was without
a doubt the best in the world but Japanese cutting quality was usually not the best possible though most often very good.

(my copy is lightly warped) and there exists better quality older pressings but you need a lot of time to find them or you may have to pay a lot of them (or both).
- NOTE 2: This one sounds less warmer, more brighter, more cleaner and has less bass compared to the 30th anniversary pressing right above.
In addition this was most likely cut from a digital source. I like much more of the 30th anniversary edition.

- RELEASED: First UK edition made and released in 1975. Shine On You Crazy Diamond part 5 is credited to Waters-Gilmour-Wright on the center label.
- NOTE 1: Based on the PFA this is of the first UK issue and supposedly originally released sealed in black shrinkwrap with Wish You Were Here sticker on shrinkwrap.
- NOTE 2: Based on the three dots in a shape of a triangle on the runouts this may be a contract pressing pressed at the CBS pressing plant in Aston Clinton, UK,
from EMI made metal parts (the center label area is typical to other EMI pressings of the time and not typical to CBS Aston Clinton pressing plant pressings).
However, the three dots would form a crooked letter A which I haven't yet seen in any Aston Clinton pressing.
The bright sound compared to the US edition also hints towards CBS Aston Clinton as they usually had slightly brighter sound on them than other pressings.
- NOTE 3: The US edition below sounds a lot warmer than this one, even overly warm. It's pretty much a coinflip for me between these two editions.

- RELEASED: Canadian reissue most likely released sometime in the 70s.
Originally released in 1975.
- NOTE: Based on the PFA this is of the second Canadian edition with updated copyrights on the back cover.
Many of these copies are encountered with the word Columbia somehow crossed out or covered with a sticker like in this release.
- NOTE: Like Canadian editions usually do, this edition sounds somewhat muffled compared to the US and A-1/B-3 cut UK editions above.
The US edition is definitely warmer and more open than this one.
The UK edition has the best dynamics of these three editions though it's also less warm than the US edition.

In addition the gatefold cover is made of only one sheet of cardboard glued together with seam on the top edge of the cover.
- NOTE 2: The stamper markings on the runouts are exceptionally shallow and hard to read but they contain numerous markings of "three dots in the shape of a triangle"
with faint number two on them suggesting those three dots are most likely number 2 in many other EMI made records as well.

- NOTE 1: The sound quality is somewhat bright, thin and slightly lacking in bass like the TML cuts usually are though otherwise excellent. I don't like the noisy vinyl this
was pressed on.
- NOTE 2: Based on the stamper indicators and the noisy vinyl material this was pressed at the EMI plant in Uden, the Netherlands. Unlike the EMI Uden vinyl material,
the German vinyl material from the EMI Köln plant is never known to be as noisy as this is. Obviously this was made in the Netherlands for the German market.
- NOTE 3: Compared to the Japanese edition below this one sounds more thinner and brighter and has less bass frequencies but the difference is not huge.
You might say the biggest difference is the characteristic TML sound. I prefer the Japanese edition over this one due to better quality vinyl, deeper bass and
more full-bodied sound.

as good as in the TML cut. However, the pressing and vinyl quality are excellent like usually for Japanese vinyl.
- NOTE 2: Should include obi stripe but it's missing from my copy.
