This is actually a UK edition made in France by a UK label for the UK market.
- NOTE 2: This one sounds much softer and even somewhat muffled compared to the release right below.

- RELEASED: Released in 1978 though this one may be a repress based on the runouts.
- OTHER: Originally released sealed.
- NOTE 1: The unidentified mark on the runouts looks like short etched or stamped line segment with something etched perpendicular to it, very close to a + mark.
- NOTE 2: The sound quality is very good though there is some surface noise in playback and the pressing quality has a lot to hope as my copy is warped and
pressed off-center. Also, this is a low volume cut.
- NOTE 3: I recall playing only few of these mailorder vinyl editions, namely the two Dire Straits LPs listed here and Metallica's ...And Justice for All 2LP.
This one remains the only RCA Record Club edition I've played and this one definitely beats the Columbia House mailorder edition of Justice and
Brothers in Arms below. The Brothers in Arms has weird sounding guitars and the Justice has stuffy overall sound quality. while this one sounds well balanced.

I definitely like more of the RL cut and the BK cut US Winchester pressing than this one.

- NOTE: This one sounds bigger, warmer and has a lot better dynamic range than the Hw cut UK reissue right above.
I definitely like more of this than the Hw cut though if I had not heard this one I might settle to the Hw cut.
The US Capitol Winchester pressing below also sounds VERY nice, I even like it slightly more than this RL cut though I would be perfectly happy with either one.

- RELEASED: Most likely the first Irish edition made and released in 1982.
Originally released in 1982.
- NOTE 1: The vinyl looks like black in normal lighting but if you look at it against a bright light it's clearly yellowish brown like Coca-Cola.
- NOTE 2: This one sounds a lot softer than all the Masterdisk cuts which may be due to the vinyl material as some people say these brown vinyl are virgin vinyl pressings.
Indeed, based on my experience all these brown vinyl pressings have that same soft sound to them so it must be due to the vinyl material composition.
This is still a very good quality vinyl but all the Masterdisk cut vinyl simply sound better to my ears, you can clearly hear the difference from the comp guitar.

There just seems to be some characteristic sound in the PRS Oslo pressings that I don't like much.

- NOTE: Annoyingly this was pressed from two different sounding cuts. Side A sounds somewhat stuffy like Canadian cuts typically tend to do but side B sounds
significantly more open. I definitely prefer the B side more. The UK pressed RL cut sounds a lot more livelier and has much better dynamics than this one.
